Student prepares for FCCLA competition
Lemont High School Culinary student, Colin Mendrick prepares for his upcoming FCCLA Competion in February by making a charcuterie board. A charcuterie board is an appetizer typically served on a wooden board or stone slab, either eaten straight from the board itself or portioned onto flatware. It features a selection of preserved foods, especially cured meats or pâtés, as well as cheeses and crackers or bread.
Family, Career & Community Leaders of Americal (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization for students in family and consumer sciences education in public and private schools through grade 12. The theme this year is Welcome to "The Ultimate Journey." The 2023-2024 annual theme encapsulates not only the destination but also the transformative journey a student will undertake with FCCLA. As they embark on this path, they will find that "The Ultimate Journey" is about growth, both personal and professional and Colin's charcuterie board reflects his growth in the Culinary program....keep up the good work!
