Wilco Culinary Program Thanksgiving Buffet was a Huge Success!

Wilco Area Career Center is proud to hosts its annual Thanksgiving Buffet, this community event draws a crowd and gives our Culinary Arts students their first experience of planning, preparing, serving and working in a buffet environment. Today, the menu consisted of

creamy butternut squash soup, rolls, mixed greens with cranberries, pralines, and raspberry vinaigrette, roast turkey with gravy, glazed ham, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce with pumpkin pie with praline streusel topping for dessert. It was a huge success and thank you to all in attendance & Happy Thanksgiving!

Three Wilco Welding Students Awarded AWS Scholarships

The Wilco Welding Program proudly announces three Alumni students received District Scholarships from the American Welding Society Foundation. These students represent  District 13 (which includes the Wilco Chapter as well as the Joliet/Aurora/Kankakee Section).

Wilco Preschool gets a Special Visit

The Wilco Early Childhood Preschool program was honored to have Author Megan Dagnino visit as a guest reader on October 28th.  Megan is a mother, registered nurse, and children’s book author of  the wonderfully fun book  Witch’s Brew .    Wilco ECE Student Ava Lenart ( Wilmington) gifted  the ECE class with a  signed copy of the book and asked if her Mom’s Friend the Author . . .

Wilco Fire Science program visits Wilco Pre-K students

The Early Childhood department collaborated with the Wilco Fire and Science department!   The preschoolers learned all about fire safety, stop-drop-and-roll,  stay low and go, creating a meeting place for the family to meet outside in the event of a fire,  common household items that are hot or dangerous,  and especially that firefighters are friendly and  help us stay safe. . . .

Wilco Area Career Center receives 2023 Lincoln Aviator

Wilco Area Career Center is about to create more learning opportunities for students following the donation of a 2023 Lincoln Aviator to its auto tech program on Thursday, September 26 th .
