Community Service Project Helps the Elderly
When it came time to decide on a community service project for the holiday season, the students in Mrs. Ardolino's CNA classes chose a project that would help the elderly residents at a local long-term care center. Because the students care for elderly residents during their clinical time, they were able to see what items were needed the most. They decided to collect and donate sweatpants and socks. The items were collected during the month of November. At the end of the collection, they had 13 pair of sweatpants and 65 pair of socks to donate. Mrs. Ardolino's class is held at Reed-Custer High School in Braidwood and includes students from Reed-Custer, Wilmington and Coal City. The items were given to their clinical instructor, Mrs. Evans to distribute at her place of employment, Symphony of Joliet. What an awesome job they did thinking of the elderly in need!
